Temporary Footpath Closure at Chimney, Footbridge between Rushey and Shifford lock, near the Chimney Meadows
A request has been received from Environment Agency for a temporary road closure to apply to a section of Footbridge between Rushey and Shifford lock, near the Chimney Meadows whilst essential close off the bridge until a further specialist inspection is carried out of the primary beams.

The primary inspection report has also recommended the replacement of some timber parapets works are carried out.
A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) is being made to implement the temporary closure and will operate from 19 September 2025 up to and including 15 March 2025. This is a 24 hour footpath closure.
